Candidate Voting Using Scored Voting

To allow voters to approve each candidate on one question quickly, organizations may set up a Single Ballot Question where voters select Yes - I approve/No - I reject on each candidate. This type of ballot can be created using “Scored” voting.

Please see our article on Scored Voting for more information on that voting system.

How to Setup

From the Ballot Page of your election setup, select "+ Add position or question" to create a new ballot question.
Choose "Start with a blank question"

Change the voting method to "Scored" from the drop-down menu beside “Voting System”.

To create the options of “Yes - I approve and No - I reject”, you’ll want to set the number of score choices to “1 to 2” so voters have two options to choose from the drop-down menu.

You can change the scores to “Yes - I Approve” and “No - I Reject” by selecting “Edit Scores”.

Create a range that your voters will be scoring on. You can use any range however for this situation we’ll go with “Yes - I Approve” and “No - I Reject”.

Select “Save” and continue setting up your vote.

How will the Ballot Look

Voters will select whether they approve or reject each candidate/option on the ballot by selecting the option from a drop-down list.

Results

Results show an average score. Select the green “i” to view a detailed breakdown of votes for each candidate.

From that pop-up you can view how many “Yes - I approve”s and “No - I reject”s each candidate received.
